Pastwise, Emery might see a dark, deep forest twisted by a miasma of a curse, trees and the ground seeming steeped in blood. There might also be the glimpse of a small birdlike creature, bleeding from arrow wounds. Futurewise, although vague, perhaps Emery will see a glimpse of a large birdlike creature with branchlike antlers protruding from its brow, its very legs seeming to be roots of a tree itself. Does your character have any special abilities or qualities that might affect how Emery's powers work on them? If so, what? I don't believe so?
